Who We Are

Who We Are

Temple LiebmannMy name is Temple Liebmann, and I was born In Peoria, Illinois.

When I was about five years old, my family moved to California starting with my grandparents. I loved California.  I loved the oceans and the beaches. In 1996, I moved to Hawai’i with my husband Gary and my children and continued my love affair with the ocean. I taught my children to love to swim and love the ocean from a very young age and we participated in many clean ups and conservation efforts over the years as they grew-up. All my children have a respect for the delicate balance of life in the oceans and one has gone on to become a PADI Certified Instructor and is studying for her marine biology degree.

I have worked in accounting in the collision repair industry for 20+ years. In 2014, I started Autobody Professional Services, Inc. after working with collision centers all over the country and discovering that many auto body shops need the experience of a bookkeeper who knows the industry, but do not want the expense of a full-time accountant. Working as an accounting manager for a large MSO of over 20 body shops as well as working with smaller single-owned shops throughout my career has given me the experience and exposure to become a successful business owner.

After marriage and children, I returned to school to get my degree in economics at the University of Hawai’i. In college, I took extra classes in oceanography to further my understanding of the oceans and how they affect our lives. I achieved my Certified Payroll Professional designation from the American Payroll Association in 2007 and began volunteering and teaching for the organization in 2008. In 2009, I was awarded the American Accounts Payable Association Woman of the Year Award.

Over the years I have volunteered in beach and ocean cleanups in California, Florida, and Hawai’i. I began volunteering with ODA as a crew member for their cleanup dives and the He’eia Pier cleanups in 2022 and continue to participate in every opportunity. My goals are to plan educational events, give presentations at local schools, and organize clean ups. I have experienced the beauty of our underwater world and want it to remain beautiful for all the future generations to see.

I am a wife and mother of four successful adults and a grandmother of four beautiful grandchildren. My hobbies include reading, enjoying nature, macrame, glass art, vinyl arts, and crafts. When our family comes to visit us in Hawai’i, we love to teach them about the ocean and take them snorkeling, boating, and swimming. We love to share our obsession with the ocean in hopes that our family and friends will love it too.

I support ODA’s efforts to clean up the ocean and educate. I believe that each person can make a difference and want to spread that message to as many people as I can. If we all do one small thing to educate and participate, we will leave a much better world for our children and grandchildren.
